Works to widen the timber staircase leading down to Little Bay Beach are now complete, finishing well ahead of schedule.

Previously, Little Bay Beach could only be formally accessed via a single set of steep, narrow timber stairs. which made access difficult, particularly in summer when thousands of beach goers visit the beach daily carrying beach gear, eskies, fishing rods and scuba gear.

The staircase has been widened using the existing footings with new Blackbutt timber treads and non-slip nosings in accordance with building regulations.

Works commenced in early May 2023 and were estimated to take 12-14 weeks to complete, but local beachgoers can rejoice as the works have finished well ahead of schedule.
