Between the cost-of-living crisis, a race-against-the-clock to prevent runaway climate change and the scourge of domestic and family violence, the problems facing our communities can, at times, feel insurmountable.
But the good news is that people across Randwick City come together every day to create positive changes in their community.
Over 40 legendary locals – representing 22 not-for-profit community and arts organisations working in Randwick City – recently gathered at Randwick Town Hall for a celebration of their contributions.
Whether they are helping family violence survivors reclaim their lives, working with unhoused young people to find at home, or supporting up-and-coming filmmakers to explore youth mental health issues through film, Randwick locals continue to tackle some of the biggest issues of our time.
At Council, we’re proud to support this work through our Community Investment Program.
Every year we award over half a million dollars to social service organisations, environmental groups, creatives, and community groups.
It’s all part of our efforts to create a sense of community in Randwick City. By supporting locally led initiatives, we’re working with community leaders and creatives to maintain a connected, cohesive, safe and resilient City, where all of us feel like we belong, and have opportunities to participate and thrive.
