This is a rare opportunity to join Australia’s leading coastal scientist, Professor Bruce Thom as he uncovers the secrets of Sydney’s coast as you stroll along the coastal walkway between Coogee Beach and Lurline Bay.
The tour starts at Coogee Surf Lifesaving Club and will take you along the popular eastern beaches Coastal Walkway to Ivor Rowe Rockpool. Be prepared to go off-track while learning about the geological wonders of the area and finding out about the relationship between Sydney’s beaches and Hawkesbury Sandstone and learning some fascinating social and environmental history on the way.
Meet outside Coogee Surf Life Saving Club at the south end of Coogee Beach. Wear covered walking shoes, bring a hat, water to drink and sunscreen. Expect to climb up and down stairs and walk on uneven and sometimes slippery surfaces on this 1.5km walk. Maximum 20 people.
