We're switching to fortnightly direct debit for lessons

Same great lessons, now with less admin!

Life is busy enough without having to worry about re-enrolments for Learn to Swim. That’s why we are switching to ongoing enrolment.

We’ve heard your feedback and made the process simpler. Your Learn to Swim enrolment will now be ongoing, meaning no more remembering term times, re-enrolment dates, queuing or bulk payment. We are switching to fortnightly direct debit.

You will still have the same flexibility, and you can still cancel anytime. Or if you are on holidays or sick, your permanent place includes four weeks holiday and four sick days. We do ask that you let us know in writing, prior to the start of your holidays.

You can book your ongoing place and set up your direct debit from Tuesday 11 June 2024. The first payment will leave your bank account Monday 22 July 2024 and will be direct debited fortnightly.

Accredited swimming program and lessons

The Des Renford Leisure Centre Swim School program is an accredited Austswim and Royal Life Saving Society Swim and Survive program.  Our program is designed to promote water safety, familiarisation and stroke correction within an enjoyable and safe environment.  All abilities are catered for from babies to adults. Lessons are 30 minutes in duration and bookings are ongoing via direct debit.

Progression through the program is achieved by meeting the assessment criteria defined for each level and is not based upon age.

Which class is right for my child?

• Please do not bring your child to lessons if they are unwell. 4 credits per child per year will be issued when a medical certificate is provided.
• No make up lessons are available.
• Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult at all times when entering the facility.
• A swim tag will be issued for you to access the facility. It is only valid for your swimming lessons. Please remember to bring your swim tag every lesson to avoid any delays entering the facility.

First Lap Vouchers are accepted for Intensive Learn to Swim (holidays) and weekly swimming lessons (school term).
Active Kids Vouchers are accepted for weekly swimming lessons (school term).

Term 2: Monday 29 April - Sunday 7 July 2024

• Week 7, 8: Re-enrolment for Learn to Swim & Intensive Holiday Program
  from Monday 10 Jun - 5pm Sunday 23 Jun.
• Week 9: Wait list processing
• Week 10: Change of day/time existing enrolments & enrol siblings
  from Monday 1 Jul.
  Learn to Swim classes are not run on Public Holidays.
