Learn to Swim Direct Debit FAQs

What are the benefits of a perpetual term and direct debit system?

  • No more re-enrolments: Your learn-to-swim enrolment will be ongoing, eliminating the need to remember term times, re-enrolment dates, queuing, or bulk payments. Our program runs for 48 weeks each year, ensuring you never lose your spot.
  • Automatic holiday pause: There will be a 4-week break over the Christmas and New Year period commencing on Monday 23 December 2024 through to Sunday 19 January 2025.
  • Flexibility: If you are on holidays or sick your permanent place includes 4 weeks holidays and 4 sick days per calendar year.

When will direct debit start?

Direct debits begin on Monday, 22 July (previously Term 3). Payments will be debited fortnightly in advance every Monday. You can get your direct debit in place during the re-enrolment period from Tuesday, 11 June to Sunday, 23 June 2024.

How will I move over to the direct debit system?

We will require you to complete DRLC LTS Direct Debit Authority Agreement. You are required to sign the agreement to our updated terms and conditions.

How will direct debit work?

After submitting your DRLC LTS Direct Debit Agreement forms, we will book you into your current lesson (same day/time). Direct debits are scheduled fortnightly from 22 July, and every second Monday thereafter from your nominated bank account or credit card in advance.

How much will I be debited?

Every fortnight on Monday, you will be debited 2 weeks' fees: $47.60 for Learn to Swim classes, $49.00 for Mini Squads and $51.00 for Teen/Adult classes. 2nd & 3rd child sibling discounts may apply.

How can I cancel my enrolment while on direct debit?

There are no lock-in contracts. You can cancel at any time by notifying us in writing (via email or a cancellation form) 7 days before the next billing cycle. We are unable to provide refunds for cancellations made after the direct debit has been run.

Can I choose my direct debit date?

Unfortunately, direct debit days cannot be chosen. We direct debit on a Monday, for lessons in advance. Whilst the payment date is scheduled for Monday, it can take up to 3 days for your bank to process the payment.

What happens if my direct debit payment fails?

If your payment fails, a dishonour fee will be charged as per the Direct Debit Authority Agreement. Customers will be notified via SMS, phone call, or email and can make the payment over the phone or in person before the next direct debit run.

Can I still claim Active Kids and First Lap Vouchers?

Yes, ‘Active kids’ and ‘First Lap’ vouchers will be accepted at any time. They will be applied to your direct debit account as a credit and reduce your next direct debit payment amount.

What if I have a credit or voucher on my swim school account?

Yes, all valid credits will be transferred to your direct debit account.

What if I don’t want to sign up for direct debit?

Direct debit is the mandatory payment method for all Learn to Swim and Squad programs starting 22 July 2024.

What happens if my lesson falls on a public holiday?

If your lesson falls on a public holiday or there is a forced pool closure, your direct debit amount will be automatically reduced after the cancellation.

Can I change my lesson day if I can’t make my regular timeslot?

Provided spots are available you can change days or times at any time. We do not offer any make up sessions, so the move will be a permanent one.

How do I put my lessons on hold for holidays?

If you have planned absences, such as holidays or events, you can use your 4 weeks hold per calendar year for these occasions. All planned absences must be put in writing 24 hours prior to the lesson taking place. You can email drlc@randwick.nsw.gov.au or fill in a hold form. No credits will be offered for missed lessons without notification in writing prior to the lesson taking place.

What do I do if my child is unwell?

If your child is unwell and misses a lesson, you need to submit a medical certificate to DRLC and a credit will be considered.

If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to email us at drlc@randwick.nsw.gov.au, or chat with our team at the Swim School reception desk.
