Book a beach wheelchair

Making beaches accessible for everyone

Wheelchair matting at Malabar beach

We believe everyone should be able to enjoy a day out at the beach. Randwick City Council offers free beach wheelchairs for hire at four of our beaches.

Beach wheelchairs are specifically designed for use on sand and the water’s edge making it easier for people with a disability or limited mobility to access the beach.

Beach wheelchair hire is part of Council’s Disability Inclusion Action Plan and Inclusive Randwick Strategy.

How to hire a beach wheelchair

Make a booking by selecting the beach name:

Bookings may be cancelled or delayed on short notice by Lifeguards if weather conditions on the day are deemed unsafe or Lifeguards are required to undertake a rescue at the time of hire.
