The McIver’s Ladies Baths HERSTORY: While We Live, We Swim exhibition showcases the untold stories of women who dedicated their lives to building a community and celebrates the centenary of McIver’s Ladies Baths.

These women were committed to establishing a swimming club and a thriving community that has existed for over a century. They were all volunteers, from the founders (Rose McIver, Mina Wylie, Vivienne McCredie, the Miley Sisters, Lorna Mobbs, Edna Ireland and Doris Hyde) to the present day.

Through children’s swimming classes, champion swimming teams, repeated vandalism at the Clubhouse and constant fundraising to keep the beautiful and safe Baths open, these women and their families have created a lasting tradition of women’s work and meaningful loves. They have been a great asset to the Randwick and Coogee communities – long may they continue!
