Commissioning and refurbishing public artworks

Public art helps enliven public spaces and add to the vitality and character of an area. Randwick City has a variety of public artworks from historical monuments to sculptures, murals and memorials.

Public art can make a significant contribution to social health and well-being of the local community, and be good for local business.

Public art is mostly located in public places and spaces but may also be incorporated into private areas open to the public such as shopping plazas, schools, parks, town centres, streetscapes and buildings.

Council allocates funds each year to refurbish or provide for new public art.
